No Wallets Needed At The H20oohh! Water Park!

How cool is this?  No one visiting this waterpark needs to carry a wallet, purse or credit card!  Find out what the scoop is below…

Apr. 20, 2009—Guests visiting the H20oohh! indoor water park at the Split Rock Resort & Golf Club, located in the western region of Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, need not carry wallets, purses, credit cards or cash. Instead, they can use wristbands to enter the park, pay for food and store items in on-site lockers. The four-season resort is employing an RFID-enabled solution from Bartronics America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bartronics.

The Proximities RFID system, originally developed by Proximities Inc. and acquired by Bartronics in February 2008, leverages the GO waterproof wristband, which has an embedded 13.56 MHz RFID chip compliant with the ISO 15693 standard. Split Rock first began using the system at its water park in October 2008, and now hands out between 9,000 and 10,000 RFID-enabled wristbands each month.

‘420 Fest’ At Pharaoh’s Theme And Water Park Draws Almost 11,000

REDLANDS – Entering the glass doors under the sphinx’s head, my senses were immediately assaulted.A beat that emitted from gigantic speakers on a stage directly in front of me erupted in my ears and rattled my bones with each reverberating bump. My eyes strained in their attempt to refocus, having left the well-lit outside for the dark, dank inside of Pharaoh’s Theme and Water Park.

Everywhere I looked, shapes of people moved in and out of the shadows, the only clear sign of human life emitting from the intricate lightshows performed along the walls and in the corners.

With an audience, usually one wide-eyed viewer, staring absently ahead, these hand magicians used glowsticks and white gloves with colored lights on the tips to create a kaleidoscope of color and movement mesmerizing to the viewer.

Making my way through a group doing what could only be described as full-body gyrations to a quickening beat, I made my way along the wall. Having been offered Ecstasy more than a dozen times during my three-hour wait in line, and nearly overcome with pungent smell of marijuana that permeated the room, I had no idea what to expect next.
