we have a 6 y/o and want to take a Christmas (week before) vacation to somewhere we can see a good amount of snow in the United States (not Alaska). An indoor waterpark would be nice, or at least somewhere with something for non-skiers

We had the opportunity to go to the water park right before Christmas with my cousin and his kids. Unfortunately, the camera ran out of batteries , so we didn't get many pictures. I love this one of Drew and Peter, though, in the pool, playing basketball. We had a great day, and it makes me think of summer, when we will do our annual trip!
