Splashy Resorts At The Waterpark Capital Of The World

As a major tourist attraction, Wisconsin Dells offer several attractive resorts where families can enjoy fun and exciting activities.

In south-central Wisconsin, there is a gorge made of sandstone that was formed by moving glaciers. Called “the Dells”, this rock formation features visually appealing natural formations and serves as a major tourist attraction. The city that encompasses the rock formation is called Wisconsin Dells. Aside from “the Dells” the city of Wisconsin is also known as the Waterpark Capital of the World, housing both the largest indoor and outdoor waterparks in the U.S. These attractions keep a steady influx of tourists coming in the city. As a result a number of hotels have been established in the area to accommodate the guests.

One of the premiere hotels in Wisconsin Dells is the Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort at 511 E Adams St. The Wilderness Territory is a sprawling resort that encompasses several lodging options as well as waterparks and a golf course. There are traditional hotel rooms, condos, vacation villas and cabins available for rent. These options range from a simple two bedroom bed with all the regular amenities to an actual 3 bedroom condominium with a loft that overlooks the lake.

Within the facilities of the Wilderness Territory are several waterpark rides that guests can avail of. There are indoor waterparks like the Klondike Kavern, Wild West and Wild Waterdome. There are also outdoor waterparks like Lake Wilderness, New Frontier and the Lost Word. Aside from the waterparks there are also other dry play and activity areas in the Wilderness Territories such as the Timberland Play Park, Wildkids’ Club, Wilderland Park and Rock Climbing Wall.

One area that will definitely entice adults is the 18-holf golf courses called Wild Rock Club, which was designed by the Hurdzan/Fry team responsible for several top golf courses in the country today. For those who want a shorter round of golf, there is a 9-hole executive golf course called Wilderness Woods. There are also fitness facilities wherein guests can work out, as well as the Sundra Spa.

Another hotel in Wisconsin Dell is the Christmas Mountain Village Resort. The main attraction for guests to come to the resort is its 27 hole championship golf course on the elevated areas of the Wisconsin dells. A 9 hole course was added to the original course in 2000. Professional golf athletes in residence also offer golf lessons.

Aside from the extensive golf course, the resort also has several accommodations that are available depending on the size of the group. Since it is marketed mostly as family destination, all the offerings are for groups of two or more. There are log cabins with up to two bedrooms, villas that can have up to three bedrooms, timber houses with two bedrooms, cottages with up to two bedrooms, deluxe timber houses with up to three bedrooms and townhouses that have up to three bedrooms.

The Christmas Mountain Village resort also offers skiing during winter. This option was open to guests during the December 21 2007 to March 9 2008 season. The slopes are open to snowboarders and skiers of all ages. During the winter season, lessons are also offered.

Some other hotels in the Wisconsin Dells area are the Comfort Inn Wisconsin Dells, the Chula Vista Resort, Treasure Island Resort, Cliffside Resort and Suites, Great Wolf Ledge Wisconsin Deluxe, Aloha Beach Resort, Fitzgerald Motel, Lakeside Motel and the Polynesian Resort Hotel.
